Mr. Roy A. Hemphill, age 54, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at his residence. He was a native of Phoenix, Ariz., and had lived in Bay County for five years. Mr. Hemphill attended New Mexico State University and Oregon State University, and was the former owner of M & M Automotive Repair Shop in Beaverton, Ore., for 15 years. After selling his shop, he obtained his Realtor license. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0104 in Aloha, Ore., where he served as Chaplain for seven years and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Hemphill is survived by his parents, Jack and Ruth Hemphill of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Charlotte Bright and her husband Jack of Panama City, Fla.; his niece, Donna Crews and her husband Bill of Salem, Ala.; two aunts, Lillian Cassidy and her husband George of Glenshaw, Pa., and Charlene Fite and her husband Bob of Alpine, Ariz.; an uncle, Donald Offen of Erie Pa.; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories, but no graveside services will be held. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Emerald Coast, P.O.
