Richard Davies

DAVIES -- Richard Leslie, born December 14, 1947, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2004, two days after his 57th birthday. He was the beloved son of Arnetta Davies and the late James Davies of Albuquerque, and is survived by two sisters: LaMerlis Wolf and husband Ben, of Dallas, TX, and Linda Strascina and husband Peter of Albuquerque; four nephews, Benny, Vincent and Phillip Wolf, all of Dallas, and Tony Vincent Strascina of New York City; and one niece, Francesca Strascina Garcia of Albuquerque. Richard displayed tremendous faith and confidence in the Lord. He daily walked the neighborhoods in his community, excited to tell people about Christ. He gave away countless Bibles over the years because he felt no one should be without one. And he literally gave away the clothes off his back to anyone in need. Richard had a great imagination and loved to fish, paint and work with his hands. We would like to thank our family and friends for their support, prayers and generosity, especially the Hooten Sunday School Class and Chaplain Ken Moore at Hoffmantown Church, Theresa Crespin, his group home caretaker for the past seven years in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Brother Bill Ware and the Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Las Vegas for their faithfulness in loving Richard. A special thanks to the nurses and hospice staff at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Richard Davies touched many lives, and will be greatly missed. We love you dearly, precious brother. A private family memorial service will be held. Arrangements courtesy French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE, in Albuquerque.
