I'm really saddened, was just thinking about "Buddy" recently.  I so much enjoyed catching up with him at our last reunion!

He lived two doors down from my house on Pampas while I was growing up, so he was always around.  Guess I'm old enough to admit that my mother caught us "playing doctor" at about age 6 and had an absolute fit. She got his mother involved and suffice it to say that was a first and a last time for any of that stuff!

Since he had 2 older brothers there was always a lot of action at his house and from out last conversation it sounded like (as I remember it) they had a successful business together and enjoyed hot air ballooning. I just remember all the "hot rods" in their driveway.

Loosing Buddy makes me feel quite vulnerable, even thourh we didn't keep in touch.  He was a part of my growing up years so long ago. My prayers are with his family.

Our friend and classmate, Arnold (Buddy) Buzzard, born on July 26, 1947, passed away on October 12, 2022. For the last several months he had been struggling with an autoimmune disease but was his usual funny self, right to the end. He enjoyed mountain living with his wife, Elizabeth Moore, HHH class of ’66, near Tijeras, NM for many years along with donkeys, llamas, and dogs. He worked as a contractor to Sandia Labs with his business, All American Supply.

Buddy was a true lover of animals, especially his black German Shepherds, Starr and Sirius, but children also gave him joy. He was funny, kind, and generous, and loved giving sweet and humorous gifts to his friends. Reminiscing about happy memories, special places and sharing old photos was one of his favorite things to do. He was fond of saying he never grew up beyond 4th grade, and many of us would laughingly agree. Buddy will be sincerely missed by his dear wife, his dogs, his family, and his many friends, some who have known him since 1st grade at Whittier Elementary School.

Buddy was so much fun to be with when a group of us gathered to celebrate a birthday or just to get together. He was a genuine great person. He gave me a lighted hand held magnifier. I use it all the time when I'm weaving to check thread counts. I'm sure it was given in humor for turning another year older. He will be dearly missed. He was a good guy. My sympathy to Elizabeth and his family. So very sorry for your great loss.

Dearest Buddy,

I'm so sad to read about this.  Like Charlotte, I had been thinking of you this week, and now I know why.  Thank you, Trish, for providing a little information.  I, too, grew up with Buddy.  He lived just a couple of blocks away.  His brother Bill (Billy) was friends with my brother, Kim, and I, of course, with Buddy.  We went all through school together....Whittier, Wilson, Highland, and then somehow I managed to stay in touch with him and Liz throughout the years even though I moved to Las Cruces.

My most precious memory of Buddy was when we were riding in the back seat of my brother's car.  Kim and Billy were in the front seat.  We were probably around 8 or 10.  Buddy very meticulously taught me how to throw a finger, and we practiced it all day.  Over the years, I reminded him how he played a big role in my early childhood education, and we laughed.

I send my best wishes to Liz and all the family.  So long, friend!   ~Jennifer
